We are a small private nursery in the beautiful village of Radlett. Christchurch Nursery was established in 1962 with the present manager taking over in 2006.

The Nursery is set up in a lovely carpeted Church Hall, with a fantastic large enclosed garden.

Our Aim is to :

  • Enhance the development and education of children under statutory school age.
  • Help the children to achieve the Early Years Foundation Goals for children's learning on entering compulsory education.
  • Provide a safe, secure, stimulating and nurturing environment.
  • Work within a framework which ensures equality of opportunity for all children.

We Offer Your Child

  • Education and care for children below statutory school age.
  • Individual care and attention made possible by a high ratio of adults to children.
  • A specially tailored curriculum for pre-school children set out by the DfES leading to approved foundation learning and monitored by OFSTED.

Records

Children's progress and future learning needs are assessed and recorded through continuous observation and assessments.  Progress reports are completed each term and kept in the children's individual Learning Journey's. All parents are welcome to discuss their child's progress at the end of a session or by an arranged appointment. Key People will be available on request.

Key Person

The pre-school has a key person system in operation.  Your child will be given a member of staff who will be responsible for the initial settling-in period, this will enable your child to form a bond with his/her key-worker. Your child's key person will also be responsible for keeping a developmental record and writing out your child's weekly information.

Learning Journeys

All children have their own Learning Journey.  Inside this folder will hold the end of term progress reports, notes taken, photographs and the odd piece of creative work.  These learning journeys are available to parents as and when required then handed out to the family on their last day with us.
